Arnie Gunderson Interview with Dr. Helen Caldicott

I finally had a chance to listen to this interview that was conducted in late October on Dr. Caldicott's Radio Show, If You Love This Planet.

Arnie states in this interview that the official daily-atmospheric releases from Fukushima are presently 10 trillion becquerels per day.

They were (officially) at 13 trillion becquerels a day, but the tent on building 1 has reduced the quantity of radiation released.

In this interview, Arnie and Helen also note that the noble gasses released by the Fukushima disaster constitute the greatest release of noble gasses in history, excluding releases by nuclear bombs.

Noble gasses like Zenon and Krypton bombard the environment with Xrays and also decay into isotopes such as Iodine-131 and Cesium, which then emit more radiation.

Gunderson feels that the policy in Japan has been to be:

One save the government

Two save Tepco

Last save the people of Japan

He states that the accident is being minimized here in the US as well.

I have to stop and go teach class. I'll post any additional comments about the interview when I conclude listening to it.
