Newsweek is reporting that the "ring of fire" has been activated as earthquakes and volcanic eruptions mount http://www.newsweek.com/earthquakes-volcanoes-ring-fire-california-alaska-792005
I have a global earthquake alert system that I track and I've been amazed at how many 5.0 scale and above earthquakes have occurred over the last 5 days. For example, there was a 7.9 earthquake in Alaska on Tuesday.
Most relevant for me here in Arizona and everyone else downwind (via the jet stream) is the escalation of geological activity in California:
Kristin Hugo. (2018, Jan 25). California Rocked by Three Earthquakes in One Day, Scientists Expect More to Come in 2018. Newsweek. Available, https://www.yahoo.com/news/california-rocked-three-earthquakes-one-192524691.html, accessed January 26, 2018California's aging nuclear plants are at risk.
Three earthquakes hit California on Thursday, one as far south as Trabuco Canyon and a second all the way up to a spot off the coast of Eureka, according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
A third earthquake struck near Lytle Creek, California, registering a 2.5 on the Richter scale. Trabuco Canyon, which is close to Lytle Creek, registered 4.0. Both cities are near Los Angeles.
The northernmost earthquake, closest to Eureka, registered a 5.8 on the Richter scale. However, because it hit 100 miles off the coastline, the vibrations were not as strong when they reached land. ABC7 reports that residents of Ferndale, California, in Humboldt County, felt the earthquake, but there are currently no reports of damage or injuries.
At the now-closed San Onofre Nuclear Plant, there is a plan to bury 3.6 million pounds of nuclear waste https://www.ocregister.com/2017/11/24/surfers-taking-stand-against-san-onofre-nuclear-waste-burial-plan-with-protest-planned-saturday-in-huntington-beach/
What would an earthquake do to that nuclear waste? What would a tsunami do?
The Diablo Canyon nuclear plant is still operating, although its situated on a fault and is quite close to a recently discovered and very significant offshore fault (see the report by the Friends of the Earth here: https://www.commondreams.org/newswire/2014/10/13/friends-earth-petitions-nrc-include-alarming-new-seismic-data-considering-diablo).

Diablo Canyon Nuclear Reactor on FIVE Earthquake Fault Lines! How Can We Shut It Down? 9/19/2014 By Joan Brunwasser (about the author) http://www.opednews.com/articles/Diablo-Canyon-Nuclear-Reac-by-Joan-Brunwasser-Activist_Chernobyl_Diablo-Canyon_Earthquake-140919-582.html
During Grand Solar Minimums the earth's magnetic shield weaken which causes an increase in earthquakes and volcanic activity. This can be verified by going back to previous Grand Solar Minimums. The volcanic activity tends to aggravate the planetary cooling. Since we in a grand solar minimum now we can expect these phenomena to be on the increase.

ReplyDelete1. These studies were novel because they showed genetic damage related to radiation exposure.
This differs from previous research, Chambers said, which centered on hard clinical outcomes or the development of orthopedic injuries from years spent wearing heavy lead clothing to shield against radiation.
“But now these two studies suggest that radiation is what we were worried about all along. It really does increase genetic alterations,” he said.
Because dysregulated miRNA has been linked to certain forms of epilepsy, Alzheimer’s disease and brain cancers, the study authored by Andrea Borghini and colleagues raises the concern that radiation may also tie into cognitive impairment.
“We’re fortunate, I think, that there aren’t more tumors, there aren’t more long-term ramifications from radiations, but I also wonder—one of the articles mentioned dementia—are we missing subtleties, occupational hazards in people that are chronically exposed to radiation that we’re attributing to aging, but are enhanced by radiation?” Chambers said. “The importance of protecting the patients is always there, but we should not underestimate the importance of protecting the operator and staff.”

Chronic fatigue and immune deficiency syndrome (CFIDS), cellular metabolism, and ionizing radiation: a review of contemporary scientific literature and suggested directions for future research, http://www.prohealth.com/library/showarticle.cfm?libid=31217, By A. Rusin et al.
Abstract
PURPOSE: To investigate biochemical pathways known to be involved in radiation response and in CFIDS to determine if there might be common underlying mechanisms leading to symptoms experienced by those accidentally or deliberately exposed to radiation and those suffering from CFIDS. If such a link was established to suggest testable hypotheses to investigate the mechanisms with the aim of identifying new therapeutic targets.
CONCLUSIONS: Evidence for involvement of the alpha-synuclein, cytochrome c oxidase, ?B-crystallin, RNase L, and lactate dehydrogenase/STAT1 pathways is strong and suggests a common underlying mechanism involving mitochondrial dysfunction mediated by ROS and disruption of ATP production. The downstream effect of this is compromised energy production. Testable hypotheses are suggested to investigate the involvement of these pathways further.

Terribly terribly dangerous, americium is even more carcinogenic than plutonium. Actually about five tives as much, alpha emitting. Yet our land fills are filled with amerecium. Americium from smoke detectors. How frikin crazy is that?
