Cold War Rising: Obama Admin Leads Post-WW II Weapons Sales

Ironic given Obama was awarded a Noble Peace Prize:

William D. Hartung (2016, July 26). The Obama Administration Has Brokered More Weapons Sales Than Any Other Administration Since World War II. The Nation, https://www.thenation.com/article/the-obama-administration-has-sold-more-weapons-than-any-other-administration-since-world-war-ii/

... American firms dominate a global [arms] market worth more than $70 billion a year...

According to the latest figures available from the Congressional Research Service, the United States was credited with more than half the value of all global arms transfer agreements in 2014, the most recent year for which full statistics are available.

At 14 percent, the world’s second largest supplier, Russia, lagged far behind. Washington’s “leadership” in this field has never truly been challenged.
The US share has fluctuated between one-third and one-half of the global market for the past two decades, peaking at an almost monopolistic 70 percent of all weapons sold in 2011. And the gold rush continues. Vice Admiral Joe Rixey, who heads the Pentagon’s arms sales agency, euphemistically known as the Defense Security Cooperation Agency, estimates that arms deals facilitated by the Pentagon topped $46 billion in 2015, and are on track to hit $40 billion in 2016.
War is peace? Peace is war?

Heightened arms sales are occurring in a context of increased belligerence between "the west" and Russia, with old cold warriors (such as Gorbachev) warning we are now closer to WWIII than any time in recent history:

Will Worley and Matt Payton. July 9, 2016. Mikhail Gorbachev says Nato is escalating Cold War with Russia 'into a hot one'. The Independent. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/nato-chief-russia-soviet-mikhail-gorbachev-ukraine-eastern-europe-tensions-jens-stoltenberg-unified-a7128521.html

Former Soviet Premier Mikhail Gorbachev has accused Nato of preparing for "offensive operations" against Russia.

As the Western alliance held a summit in Warsaw, Poland, Mr Gorbachev criticised Nato’s decision to deploy 4,000 more international troops in Eastern Europe.

Tensions have been mounting between Russia and Nato member states, in particular the US, as diplomatic spats and military excercises have increased in frequency.

Mr Gorbachev, the eighth and last leader of the Soviet Union, said: “Nato has begun preparations for escalating from the Cold War into a hot one.

“All the rhetoric in Warsaw just yells of a desire almost to declare war on Russia. They only talk about defence, but actually they are preparing for offensive operations.”
Humans are insane. And unfortunately too many of them are insanely homicidal. Those who love power the most are typically the most insane of all.

The Obama Admin and NATO seem to be blatantly trying to provoke a war with Russia; and the public in the US is so muddled people think Donald Trump is a war monger and Hilary a Dove. Germany is trying to portray the immigrant problem as stemming from insensitive Germans and want even tighter gun control. There is a decided Alice In Wonderland quality on the planet now. Oh, and Pope Francis assures us that religion has nothing to do with it. I suppose instead of a priest in Normandy these guys might have gone after an auto mechanic or a fry cook. Still Allah Akbar has a slightly ecclesiastical ring. Perhaps Madeline Albright's speech last night reassured the doubtful, she of the worth while price on half a million dead Iraqi children! It seems we have both an ample supply of blind men and also of mad men.

I'm with you on Europe. These Western, Southern and Northern European leaders have cucked so hard for the "migrants" that they are destroying the internal infrastructure of their country. The Sharia Law is an anathema to the constitution and I am tired of these leaders uttering how Islam is a religion of peace. I don't want all of this calamity in the United States.

Both Poland and Romania may be in for a surprise. Poland made a very serious mistake back in 1939 taunting the Germans. The Russians could easily take out the missile sites; and in general have better weapons than NATO. A hot war would not turn out well. Russia knows that but apparently Obama does not. Or this is all pretend. But pretends sometimes turn into bad reals.

I like how Trump has expressed normalizing relations with Russia. Notice how the Neoconservatives have flocked to Hillary? If Hillary becomes president, she will start a serious conflict with Russia that may lead to another world war.

I've noticed the neocons flocking to Hillary. I'm voting for Jill Stein and the Green Party!

May I give a hint to another very good blog,
    with a new article about,
1700 mails proof that Hillary has provided weapons to ISIS.
That woman not only looks like crisis,
    she is crisis.
