Unit 1 Steaming Away

The streets are wet at the Futaba intersection so there is high humidity in the air but Unit 1 looked like this yesterday, and the day before, and the day before that, when the streets were dry.

Lots of blue visible on the TEPCO cam 4.

this is very relevant; she is a smart woman she deserves our vote even though technically she could not win
fortunately Sanders and even Trump are moving in the directions she hopes society will move she represents sanity, intelligence, compassion and those sorts of things which the two parties chose to eschew

    1. I've voted for her (Stein) before and will again if Hillary is the democratic candidate.

  3. People ask how can the high emissions at naraha be translated into palpable numbers that people can understand and if you cannot see it smell it or taste it how is it effecting people?

You can see emissions at fukushima. High emissions. Majia has collected many of webcam photos of the craziest stuff you can concieve in the five years since the catastrophe at the fuku daichi site. Strange anomlies, distortions, lights, emissions, fogs not unlike what was captured around the blob at chernobyl. So flipping radioactive the external radiation would kill ya in minutes.

There are all the pictures of the bombs going off and the accompanying devastation. People burned to death, people with awful burns, mutations, people who absorbed radionucleides and got cancer.

I was once a dosimetry tech at a nuclear complex. I passed out radiation badges at the complex as a summer job. The badges were gathered monthly. We knew the radiation shown by the badges was the same as the radiation in the bombs that fried people in nagasaki and hiroshima. The bosses did not hide that from us. What the bosses failed to tell us was that the true danger at the complex was the danger that we were absorbing the shit in our lungs the food we ate and through our skin, not from any external radiation the badges picked up.

Bioaccumulation of ultraminute amounts of radiotoxins is what really kills ya when radionucleides has are about. The geiger counters just show theres a lot of them there. You cannot see smell or touch lead , arsenic, dioxins, mercury or  tetravalent chromium in water and food yet they kill ya maim ya in small quantities.

Radioactive cesium is a million times more toxic than the latter poisons of lead, arsenic etc.  There is so much cesium137 from chernobyl spread around in belarus now that 85 % of of the kids in belarus have heart defects in a country of 10 million.

Cesium 137 has  a halflife of 30 years along w strontium90 which leads to guarenteed bone marrow abnormalities at.00000000075 gm/kg.  Plutonium and uranium other radionucleides have much larger halflives and varying toxicities based on their physiological targeting.

    1. Cesium 137 is extremely cardiotoxic.  It is the predominant element at narah. It is toxic to .00000000035 gm per kilogram and there is enough in tokyo now to kill everyone in 5 years. you can pick it up with a geiger counter or scinillometer. you cannot pickup lead or arsenic chrom mercury except with a mass spectrometer.
One can measure radionucleides in mass spectrometers too. Cesium 137 can be converted from curies and bg using the simple calculation of 900 curies per gm of cesium137. Dr Conrad miller came up with the cardiotoxic dose of accumulated cesium 137 after exhaustive studies in belarus.
EATING 10 Bq/kg RADIATION CONTAMINATED FOOD, BUILDS UP TO 1,400 Bq/kg INTERIOR RADIATION IN 3 YEARS

Dr. Miller explains how if a person eats food on a regular basis that is contaminated with as little as 10 Bq/Kg, it accumulates in the body and is NOT excreted quickly as the pro nuclear advocates claim. Instead the Cesium for example, builds up over time until the levels reach 1,400 Bq/Kg in as little as 3 years.

It only takes 10 Bq/Kg in the human body to cause health problems according to Dr. Miller, and 50 Bq/Kg will cause irreversible lesions and heart problems.

An instant exposure to iodine 131 which is short lived leads to cancer or thryroid abnormalities. I 131 is also used to kill thyroid gland in people who have goiters and thyroid cancer and they know exactly how much it takes.  Go figure.

    2. From nuclear-news.net

In total denial of the low-dose internal irradiation effects

Another marvelous spin propaganda article minimizing the dangers of the radiation in Fukushima, from the Asahi Shimbun.

If you watch that press conference from the beginning to the end, you may have different impression about their work. They do not pay any attention to the effect of the low-dose internal irradiation. Such omission being very convenient to promote the fallacy that life in Fukushima is very safe.

    3. Telling the truth went out of style a long time ago. People discovered that it did not pay well. The talented liars got power, money and sex. The truth tellers got put in jail, exiled, murdered or committed suicide by shooting themselves several times in the head and then tying their hands behind their backs. These events provided great object lessons for others. Soon everyone was learning how to adjust the truth to their advantage. After a while they believed the lies they told so in the end it all seems to work out well enough. Most people can't remember even yesterday so the lie told on Monday is gone by Wednesday. Personally I still have an affection for the truth but keep it to myself in order to fit in. People seem to sense it when you slip up and say something true and often turn away in order to avoid getting contaminated. Second hand truth may have a distinct odor which you would not want others to smell. What have you been doing they ask? while wrinkling their noses.
