What is the Yellow Light Flickering Above Fukushima's Common Spent Fuel Pool?

Here are a variety of screenshots:

Below is a screenshot from cam 4 from September 7 2015 (Japan time) that does NOT show the yellow flickering light, although there does appear to be a structural protrusion in that area:

Compare the screenshot above with the ones taken September 8 that do show the flickering light:

I'm not sure what the yellow flickering light represents but I did notice that the Futaba cam view is showing the flashing light which I've concluded from past episodes is some sort of warning light. Please see the attached file of screenshots above.

I will keep watching for developments.

  1. Good catch, Majia. Not sure what that is. Would also note on the 9-7 01:16 cam4 shot, 3rd one in your pdf, the striped light in/on the R1 tent. It showed up a few days ago and again last night. I've seen it before but haven't identified it yet. Horse

    1. Correction the 3rd one in your pdf is a Cam1 shot. I think the striped light is some activity inside the tent. Horse

    2. Miss it too. Expanding to other sites. Working on something new, maybe we can all get together again soon.
