Fukushima Alert


There is a police car at the Futaba intersection with its flashing lights on. It is a well-documented Fuksuhima alert strategy to keep people away from plant. So, I suspect something has happened to make radiation levels or other conditions more dangerous presently.

I've been checking the webcams several times daily, although yesterday I was at a conference and did not have time to check them. What I've seen over the last couple weeks is increased pixilation of the images from TEPCO cams 1 and 4.

Today TEPCO cam 4 kept freezing up and I had to re-fresh several times. There is a strange "cloud" of emissions surrounding the cranes. I'm not sure whether the cloud is merely the effect of a deteriorating cam, or is actually registering radioactive emissions. The cloud has been visible for at least a week now:
