  1. Wow.

Major fire at Unit 3. I haven't seen one like this before. I don't know what the flashes were, but you can see that the fire and explosions continue for most of the rest of the video after them, even though it is black and white.

If Nuckelchen could do a colorization on the video it would be very interesting.

I can't tell if it's coming out of the "pit" on the north end of 3 or coming from the core - it looks to be just to the left and/or slightly behind the vent tower.

What's most disturbing to me is that the entire video is shaking through much of it, but the camera is located 10km away. Either there was a 30 minute earthquake going on, or the operators were shaking it intentionally.

A few days ago they released an overhead picture of #3 SFP, and it clearly showed that the entire area around the pool was burned to ashes - if you compare that overhead shot to those taken for a few weeks after the accident it's very plain that the SFP3 has been burning. You can see huge I-beams reduced to nearly nothing.

I think they've been trying to remove debris from #3, but it's probably too hot to handle. Certainly if the kind of thing shown in the video continues, it's going to make the entire site difficult to work at. Thanks for pointing it out.
