Fukushima Daiichi on TEPCO Cams


Visible conditions (on webcams) at Fukushima Daiichi have been pretty constant for the last couple of weeks without any substantial changes that I've noticed.

One interesting effect that I've seen day in and day out is the oscillation in color noted below, from purple to black:



The screenshot above was taken Jan 29 at 00:49 whereas the one below was taken Jan 29 at 1:12, roughly 20 minutes later. As you can see the purple light is gone.



The phasing in and out of the purple light is hard to explain. Perhaps there is a light source below the field of view?
