Earthquake Near Fukushima Daiichi

A 6.5 earthquake near Fukushima Daiichi:

Fukushima earthquake: Japan hit by 6.5 tremor off coast that's felt in Tokyo

Plant looks ordinary on cams, although unit 1 in the foreground below looks rather pinkish but that is likely a camera effect.

If you run the animation sequence at the Nuclear Emergency Tracking website, you will see that monitors in Japan and the US have been reporting rather elevated readings but not high enough to indicate a sudden and dramatic shift upward that I can detect: https://netc.com/anim-map.htm

Earthquake impacts on the contaminated water problems uncertain:

Toxic water level at Fukushima plant still not under control. (2019, July 28). The Asahi Shimbun, THE ASAHI SHIMBUN http://www.asahi.com/ajw/articles/AJ201907280040.html

Work ongoing at Daiichi as this hanging basket appeared to have been dropped into unit 1 (or perhaps behind it - hard to tell but looked in rather than behind)

  1. I was once assigned to help clean the alginic slime, off the top of a uranium slurry tank with uranium slurry in it. We were in little boats. They said,"Don't fall in because the uranium slurry is acidic and radioactive."
That was nothing compared to what those poor fellows at Fukushima Daiichi are doing. 10,000 Bq and greater of the worst Gamma Beta emitting radionuclides possible. Horrendous. Working in the midst of earthquakes and collapsing towers.

Nothing significant has been done to improve safety at two coastal reactors upwind of 10 million people that are surrounded by earthquake faults in a #tsunami zone like the one where the four #Fukushima reactors have already exploded.

  3. The contaminated water is already flowing into the sea and has been all this time. How else is the ocean becoming so warm and bleaching out coral reefs, creating bacteria and killing marine life. Just my opinion, of course

    1. Good point although i think there is a lot more man made radioactive shit in the ocean than simply from Fukushima. I think Cullen is a hired gun, cherrypikin-jackass
