Radiation levels across the Marshall Islands in the central Pacific Ocean, where the United States conducted more than 65 nuclear tests during the Cold War, are still alarmingly high — even higher than Fukushima and Chernobyl in some parts, a new study shows.
Researchers at Columbia University tested soil samples on four uninhabited isles and discovered that they contained concentrations of nuclear isotopes that are “significantly” higher than those found near the two disaster sites.

ReplyDeleteI wonder. We think we are advanced, but so did people one hundred years ago, one thousand years ago, and so on. Probably with increased knowledge a way will be found to deal with radioactive material and clean these areas. Of course with increased knowledge some other evil will be also found and terrorize whoever is around at the tim,e. With the sine wave in mind we can see the curve go up into wonderful discoveries and then down into destructive consequences.

Dear anonymous at 12:19 - I am sorry that you are unhappy with my posts. I try and keep the discussion forum open to alternative points of view because I believe open dialogue is better than none at all. I realize that means that we may disagree with one another in comments but I'm not sure how this disagreement constitutes "treachery."
