"Hope Tourism"

Fukushima Daiichi continues to look steamy, especially around reactor 2 in view below:

But what a great vacation spot!
Fukushima aims to boost school-trip visitors with new plan focused on teaching about 3/11 disaster may 26 2019

In an effort to increase the number of students visiting for school trips, Fukushima Prefecture has created a series of travel routes it will propose this fiscal year to schools outside the prefecture to provide them with an opportunity to learn about the March 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and the subsequent nuclear meltdowns. In the past, educational tours that focused on the 2011 disasters — promoted by the prefecture as “Hope Tourism” — were offered mostly to high school students, while plans focused on history and nature were tailored to children in elementary and junior high schools. By combining the two, the prefecture hopes to provide students with a more comprehensive experience and hopefully dispel any prejudice they may have about Fukushima. The plan also involves having officials visit high schools in other areas to talk about the importance of visiting Fukushima Prefecture.

Not everyone in Japan agrees on this "recovery tactic" as the risks of exposure remain and are much more broadly found than acknowledged by most authorities:

Akio Matsumura (2019, April 30).When will Californians wake up to the Risk to Children from Nuclear Radiation? Dissident Voice, https://dissidentvoice.org/2019/04/when-will-californians-wake-up-to-the-risk-to-children-from-nuclear-radiation/

In March 7, the Inter Press Service (IPS) published my article, “Eight Years on, Fukushima Still Poses Health Risks for Children,” and I am very gratified to learn that it was the second most popular article published in IPS News that week. It also appears that many readers were surprised to learn that removal of the irradiated cores from the three crippled nuclear reactors at Fukushima would take at least forty years.

This revelation reminds me of my conversation with the late Dr. Hans-Peter Durr, former Director of the Max Plunch Institute of Germany, when the Fukushima accident occurred in March 2011. Hans-Peter called me to say that the Fukushima accident was much worse than the government of Japan and TEPCO were disclosing to the public and suggested that I talk to the Prime Minister of Japan on this urgent matter. When I asked Hans-Peter how long it might take to solve the Fukushima accident, he replied that it will take at least forty years.

  1. They have been doing this in Kasakstan, for years. They have been doing it for years, in the Ukraine, by Pripyat.

Millions of tourists visit The Grand Canyon yearly. They are not told of the history.

Many visit the Tennesse Valley Authority Complexes in the SE US.

How about goin swimming at the beach of LaHague France, where raw plutonium drools out of the Plutonium Reprocessing plant there, into the sea?

They have been doing it In Southern Utah and Nevada, and Colorado where Nuclear Bombs were exploded and, where there are Uranium piles. Millions of tourists visit these places yearly . They are not notified of the dangers.

They have done it for Years By fallon Nevada where nuclear waste was fracked into the gtound in the sixties... or outside Las Vegas where many bombs have been detonated. Where there have been nuclear reactor meltdowns..
The tourist industries have enticed millions of tourists yearly to Canyonlands national Park in Utah.

People are not notified of risks, when they visit close to any of the Nuclear Reactors in America, Europe, Korea, France or anywhere else.

Take a country drive though Paducah Kentucky by the uranium purification plant, anyone?

How about a cross country visits to the Hundred Nuclear waste sites in France. You are not likely to know where they are.

Let's go swimming by San Onofre in the Pacific, By San Diego.

All that Rafting in The Columbia River through The Hanford Plutonium Reservaion.

They want to turn into a Hanford into National Park in Washington .

Same for The Rocky Flats Plutonium Prduction facility outside of Denver, they are it turning into a Historical Park and wildlife area.
Millions of tourists visit these places yearly and, are not notified of the dangers

How about visiting the Los Alamos Atomic Heritage Musean on top of the mountain, where americas nuclear weapons are made? Where there are measurable amounts of americium in hotspings, in the surrounding areas and background radiation is double of what it is in other areas in many places.

The life expectancy of dogs around los alamos is 5 to 8 years.

How about Big Bend National Park in Texas? Close to where they have parked 20000 tons of High Level Nuclear waste and buried 50 thousand tons at Marfa. How about by WIPP in NewMexico or Alamagordo and whitesands in new mexico where they detonated a bomb and did nuclear experiments?

How about a nice mountain bike ride, along smoldering West Lake Land-Fill, by St Louis?

Or any of these many places in America where there are major nuclear waste dumps and background radiation is higher than most of the norm:

This is  great article by Prominent Physician, radionuclide Expert,  and Nuclear Catastrophe Expert, Dr. Conrad Miller on Rosatoms current state of affairs.

    Rosatom – Russia’s Atomic Corporation, Now Controlling 60% of World’s Nuclear Technology[/caption]

"While we have been distracted by the Trump chaos affecting the entire world over the past few years, Vladimir Putin and his nuclear ambitions have taken over 60% of the world’s nuclear technology.  This includes his brilliant idea of developing and selling FLOATING nuclear reactors.  Where will their waste end up? Who will possibly monitor it? There is bribery and corruption in the tale, spread across the planet from Egypt to Bangladesh to South Africa to Finland and Egypt, as only the murderous dictator Vladimir Putin could create. Michael Flynn wanted to be part of the sales team, as we now know."
