Power Outage Yesterday at Fukushima Daiichi Reported by Japan Times

The Japan Times is reporting a power outage yesterday at Fukushima. Usually such reports indicate some significant event occurred at the plant (which may or may not be represented accurately in the news report):
Power outage at Fukushima nuclear power plant causes machinery to shut down. Kyodo Jun 28, 2016 http://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2016/06/28/business/corporate-business/power-outage-fukushima-nuclear-power-plant-causes-machinery-shut/#.V3Ka0qKYKXM

The operator of the crippled Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant said Tuesday a power outage halted some systems but that no problems were detected in the cooling of the three melted-down reactors.

However, I saw no visible effect on emissions yesterday or today. Here are some of today's screenshots. Emissions can be seen above unit 3 to the right and to the extreme left of the screenshot (left of unit 1 for those viewing the screenshots):

  1. From the article by james heddle et al "Because of these facts, many long time environmentalists working for decades to close Diablo were shocked and outraged at this announcement of the proposed agreement.

Judge to abusive husband: “You have just 9 years to stop beating your wife.”
Husband: “Thanks, your honor. I was planning to leave her then, anyway.”

A first reading of the Joint Proposal and its accompanying letter reveals it to be a devil of a gamble, involving prolonged seismic risk, routine radioactive pollution & tons more waste and plutonium production for nearly a decade, not to mention perpetuation of PG&E mismanagement, exorbitant profits, and ratepayer extortion."

    1. It seems as if the cycle of extraction is escalating.

  3. The increased activity from accelerated extraction would be a good thing. There is a risk though equipment hitting things or perhaps delicate systems being knocked out.
