The Pentagon has deployed drones to spy over US territory for non-military missions over the past decade, but the flights have been rare and lawful, according to a new report.

...A senior policy analyst for the American Civil Liberties Union, Jay Stangley, said it is good news no legal violations were found, yet the technology is so advanced that it's possible laws may require revision...

Thank goodness for the ACLU. The surveillance may have been lawful, but probably only because there are not specific laws banning unwarranted and unwanted surveillance, despite US citizens' Constitutionally enshrined right to privacy.
