New Cold War Update

Earlier this week I posted about the US decision to "modernize" its nuclear arsenal at a cost of $1 trillion dollars here:

On Thursday (Feb 25, 2016) I read in the Wall Street Journal that "US Warns Banks Off Russia Bonds" (p. A1, A8). The article states that the US government is urging US banks to avoid bidding on "potentially lucrative but politically risky" Russian bonds.

The US apparently is already in a kind of financial warfare with Russia, in addition to the proxy war being waged in Syria.

And of course there is all sorts of speculation that low oil and gas prices aren't simply a product of over-supply but that pricing has also been manipulated to kill Russia, whose economy relies extensively on natural gas exports to Europe. (for a general discussion of Russia's vulnerability see here:

Then yesterday I read at Zero Hedge that the US has been test firing ICBMs (intercontinental ballistic missiles) used to deliver nuclear weapons:
Caught On Tape: U.S. Test Fires Nuclear ICBM, Warns "We Are Prepared To Use Nuclear Weapons"
According to the article, the US test-fired 2 Minute Man II missiles over the last week. ZeroHedge reports that Deputy Defense Secretary Robert Works stated that missiles have been tested at least 15 times since January 2011, sending
"a message to strategic rivals like Russia, China and North Korea that Washington has an effective nuclear arsenal. "That’s exactly why we do this," Work told reporters before the launch.... "We and the Russians and the Chinese routinely do test shots to prove that the operational missiles that we have are reliable. And that is a signal ... that we are prepared to use nuclear weapons in defense of our country if necessary."
So, we already have elements of financial warfare and a spreading proxy war in Syria that is creating a catastrophic refugee crisis, capable of destabilizing Europe.

Now the psychopaths are playing brinksmanship, bringing us ever closer to nuclear war.

Perhaps the psychopaths are simply trying to expedite the end that is already guaranteed by Hanford, Chernobyl, Fukushima and the world's aging nuclear infrastructures?

  1. Goes beyond psychpathic. In the realm of psychotic. Like in the movie Dr Strangelove that we all grew-up with. The cognitive dissonance of leaders who are suppised to support a social contract yet, are psychotic.

  2. Its like our leaders walk around half the time in an ambien or halcion fog. An ambien or halcion psychosis. So much at risk.

  3. These articles may give people a better idea of what is going on in Japan. It is very sad. A terrible time in world history. What occured in fukushima is so awful they have put all their resources into covering it up. That if a majority knew they would rebel. Their could be no more npps or nuclear saber rattling.
