Yesterday's Event at Fukushima Daiichi

I'm listening to "I'm Already Dead" by Monsters and Men. Fitting music I think.

Something happened yesterday that was visible primarily on the Futaba cam.  I've created a pdf of screen shots made by me, Wideawake and others participating in the Enenews Web Cam Discussion Forum.

The event may have started with some sort of flashes that were visible in video of the TEPCO 4 webcam (cam focused on unit 4). I was not able to screen capture the flashes seen in the video (posted by Heart of  the Rose) here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPbD0XXZn3A&list=UUDu1KkkwuzybKx6MXQgGHuw

Flashes were followed by what looks a lot like "smoke" visible on the Futaba cam. This shot was made by WideAwake. The black cloud you see on the horizon is an unlikely one and it may have been some sort of emission event:

Look how the "cloud" is illuminated (by the rising sun?)

I didn't see the smoke but I saw the incredible pink mushroom shaped cloud that was visible in the morning:

There was a significant solar event that occurred over the last few days, which may have possible relevance for the Fukushima event: X Classed Solar Storm

The event entailed two flares, the second one being an X-1 classed, directed fully at Earth. I wonder whether the incoming solar radiation may have interacted with the high radiation emanating from the Fukushima site?
