East Coast braces for monster 'Frankenstorm' http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_SUPER_STORM?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2012-10-26-07-48-21
WASHINGTON
(AP) -- The pre-Halloween hybrid weather monster that federal
forecasters call "Frankenstorm" is looking more ominous by the hour for
the East Coast, and utilities and local governments are getting ready.
Meteorologists
expect a natural horror show of high wind, heavy rain, extreme tides
and maybe snow to the west beginning early Sunday, peaking with the
arrival of Hurricane Sandy on Tuesday and lingering past Halloween on
Wednesday....
Majia here: I hope the storm is not spiced with Fukushima radiation and BP oil and corexit....
The worst part is the blackouts. Blackouts in the winter for 2 weeks at a time are just agonizing. In Europe, they bury their power lines. They consider the US medieval with all of these wires going every which way like some 1930s R. Crumb pastiche.
