Fukushima Daiichi Update December 27-28 2016

The temperature has been in the high to mid-30s F in Fukushima with high humidity but the "visible" emissions are down significantly over the last few days. I am not sure whether the cold weather alone can explain this reduction in visible emissions or whether TEPCO's nitrogen injections were successful.

You will notice that December 27 looks better than December 28. It will be interesting to see what conditions look like tomorrow.

  3. Is Obama attempting to start a war? The latest move by the UN backed by Obama does not solve a problem but actually creates a new one. Whether Israel has a right to exist is mute, as they have hundreds of nuclear bombs, missiles, submarines, etc. But this could inspire a civil war. We could end up with a nuclear conflict in the Middle East within weeks. And then there is the downed Russian plane, the murdered Russian ambassador as well as two other diplomats, etc. With Wahhabi Muslim John Brennan on the loose who knows what else Obama may be loosing on the world. The next 24 days are crucial. Just about anything could transpire!

    1. Angry Anonymous, you do not track very well. If we have a nuclear war the problem of Fukushima will fade away. All the nuclear power plants are just waiting to be hit by terrorists or an enemy during a war. We are now in the most critical period of time in many many years as Obama may do just about anything. Or at least try to. Take some deep breaths. Relax. Step back from all your hostility. Give prayer a try.

  6. You are very angry and polital partisoned William. You add little or nothing of direct relevance to topics about fukushima or the ongoing meltdowns.
The wall there is failing and tepco is now being broken up. There is not much real work going on there as can be seen.

I have not really seen any rods removed from fuel pools on webcams. Have not for five years.

There have been reports of hotspots around Tokyo on concrete above 2000 CPM.

Trump is sabre rattling for a new arms race. That always means more uranium mining, more pollution. If trump deregulates nuclear, starts a new arm race, continues nuclear power bailouts, and expand nuclear power it will lead the united states in this direction even more so that it already is. https://nuclear-news.net/2016/12/26/ukraine-energy-wars-are-leading-to-a-fukushima-chernobyl-debacle-in-europe/

  7. One nuclear melt down in the US, Japan, Korea, Russia, Ukraine away from unprecedented northern hemisphere contamination. The US Russia, China, Japan, France are only making it worse by continuing to keep very dangerous nuclear power plants opened. They are also building and exporting badly designed nuclear power plants around the world. Trump wants to open Yucca mountain, build more nuclear power plants, mine more uranium, keep old nuclear power plants open, put nuclear weapons in space, proliferate nuclear power and weapons. Trump wants to completely deregulate water standards for nuclear contamination. Trump wants to build fuel processing plants. He is elected. Obama is out of the picture yet we continue to see Limbaugh and trump dittohead propaganda.
