Heartsick

The scientists and technocrats paid by the nuclear, carbon, and chemical complexes will tell us that the eco-system was not subject to enough radiation contamination from Fukushima to cause crippling tippling-points in animals already at risk because of widespread habitat loss and destruction.

The scientist and technocrats paid by the nuclear, carbon, and chemical complexes will tell us that exposure can be measured and effects predicted using models (such as the ICRP) with bankrupt assumptions.

The scientists and technocrats paid by these powerful complexes will scratch their heads trying to explain why so many Pacific and North American species are experiencing sudden collapse events.

Hannah Arendt wasn't off with her formulation of the banality of evil.

  1. To overcome inertia as well as gravity, now, that is the thing. I am unclear on how that could be accomplished, and, so my heart occupies a place that I never knew before in my life. It is beyond words.

    1. I feel it too. I'm watching the animals on my hikes very, very carefully now. They will show the urgency of our situation.

I had an idea for a story pop into my head one day hiking. The story is called "The Raven's Council."

The Ravens are scavengers so they know the state of death and life quite well and called the council because they saw what was happening. I hope I have time to write this story some day....

  2. So who or what is behind this "decision" to destroy the planet? While the herbicides and GMO's are certainly bad, they can be dealt with. But radiation is seemingly forever. Once let loose it can not be summed back to its origin. And once the animals and plants are gone they too will be gone forever. What a shame!

  3. "nice" summary Majia, these purchased scientists need to be put in jail, or put to work cleaning up the radiation where possible.

  4. Through other interactions that I have outside of cyber-space I have lost all faith in humanity. There just aren't enough people out there who care. It's become that simple and that sad.

  5. Thank you Majia, for all the work you do on your blog. And thank all the rest of you whom are awake and watching and are forever concerned. The worst of it all for doers is to watch our earth and everyone on it be poisoned daily and not be able to do anything about. it It's a horrible position to be in. No one wants to be thought of a victim. I quess prayers are the strongest thing we can do...unless.....
