NHK Updates on Radiation and Ground Water at Fukushima

NHK Reports on Tepco's efforts to stabilize the plant: "They say the amount of radioactive substances released from the plant was about 200-million becquerels per hour in the first half of September. They say that's about one-four millionths of the level of the initial stages of the accident in March...."

Tepco claims radiation released at 200 million becquerels an hour. Compare this figure with the ones provided by Busby and Gunderson:

Busby stated that plant emissions were reported to the Japanese Prime Minister by Tepco to be 10 to the 13 becquerels per hour.[i]

During an interview with Dr. Helen Caldicott, broadcasted online in September of 2011, Arnie Gunderson stated that he had been told that Fukushima was currently emitting a gigabecquerel per day (gigabecquerel or GBq 109 Bq), in radiation, which he described as over 2 billion decays per second a day.[ii]

The NHK story also says that they plan to achieve cold shutdown within this year; however, I am not sure how cold shutdown can be achieved given that the corium is no longer fully, or at all, contained in the RPV (reactor pressure vehicle) in at least 2 of the reactors (1 and 3).

On second thought, given that their stated goal is to bring the temperatures in the RPVs down to below 100 degrees, maybe they can achieve it given that the coriums are no longer inside the reactor pressure vehicles:
"The operator also plans to improve its cooling systems so that the temperatures of all 3 reactors will drop below 100 degrees Celsius."

Tepco is also reporting that ground water seems to be flowing into the basements of the reactors (where the corium may reside). This is not good, says Tepco

  1. Remove radiation from any water source

Our University of Alabama patented solar desalination product uses no electricity, has no filters to replace, can be taken anywhere and extracts pure water from any contaminated water source. It removes radiation, fluoride, salt, pesticides, bacteria, dirt and other contaminants from any water. It aids people to be prepared for disasters, saves hundreds on bottled water and utility bills. Made tough in the U.S.A.

These units can also be placed together in arrays of literally any size, as needed, to accommodate a desert vegetable farm or remote area water needs, etc.

Fukushima deadly hot particles hit U.S., Health right violation (video)

West Coast, Seattle, Boston hot spots: Cancer to dramatically increase yet public kept in dark

On Monday, it was confirmed that the major human right to health is being violated in the United States by the public not being advised that Fukushima hot particles contaminated the United States and that West Coast cancer are due to surge, based on scientific analysis by Scientist Marco Kaltofen of Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) of radioactive isotopic releases from Fukushima who presented his findings at the American Public Health Association (APHA) annual meeting in Washington DC as reported by nuclear expert Arnie Gundersen.

"Mr. Kaltofen’s analysis confirms the detection of hot particles in the US and the extensive airborne and ground contamination in northern Japan due to the four nuclear power plant accidents at TEPCO’s Fukushima reactors," according to nuclear expert Arnie Gundersen of Fairwinds.
