Differentiating Dangerous from Normal Background Radiation
Washington's Blog has a must read article on why the radiation being released from the Fukushima plant is different from "normal" background radiation. The article begins: "Apologists for the type of old, unsafe nuclear reactors which are leaking in Japan argue that the amount of radiation released from Fukushima is small compared to the amount of "background radiation" " There Are NO Background Levels of Radioactive Caesium or Iodine ..." http://georgewashington2.blogspot.com/2011/03/comparing-japans-radiation-release-to.html#comment-form Greenpeace Germany has issued a statement calling the Fukushima nuclear disaster as bad or worse than Chernobyl http://www.nirs.org/reactorwatch/accidents/ines7march25th.pdf How bad is this going to get? How long is dangerous radiation going to spew?????
